I got a similar call but I did not try to call back yet. I try to search online to see if this is CRA # but instead it lead me to this page. If a CRA audited, CRA should send a letter. If other people who received similar call already verified with CRA to be false, why this number is not shut down by authorities.

They left 3 messages 3 days in a row saying they were CRA and I was being audited. Terrible sound quality, barely legible. I phoned by blocking call display (*67). They answered "Canada Revenue Agency". I asked who I was speaking to and they hung up. Called the real CRA and asked about this call and if I was being audited. They said it was a scam, did not even ask who I was. They said they had been getting a lot of calls about this type of scam today.

They called my home during the day in the past few days. They basically said it was CRA etc etc I called the number back around 7:30pm and after several rings no one answered .

They left 2 messages saying i t was Canada Revenue and that I was being audited.

This number has called my home three times in the last three days.

Same. They identified their selves as canada revenue agency.

Automated message claiming to be from the CRA about an audit and that it is "Time sensitive" and that I should not disregard the message. They know my address and didn't send a registered letter, so I called back and the guy says "Hello?" And I said "Who am I calling?" He said: "This is the CRA." to which I replied: "How do I know that? This sounds like a scam...." He said to call the 1-800 # and then I was talking further and he hung up. Who at the CRA answers "Hello?"? I looked up the # and it brought me here.
